Odell to launch wine line in 2020

FORT COLLINS — Odell Brewing Co. is getting into the craft wine business.
The Fort Collins brewery announced in a press release Wednesday that it plans to build a wine cellar this year and go to market with a set of wines by next summer.

Odell spokesman Alex Kayne said via email that the brewery has yet to decide how many wine varietals it will make or where it will source its grapes, but it is looking at creating red and white wine blends, a rosé and sparkling styles.

“Beer will always beer at the core of who we are, but the Odell Wine Project will bring a whole new exploration of flavors to our long-standing Odell fans and hopefully allow us to introduce ourselves to new fans as well,” he said.

Rocky Mountain Health Plans (RMHP), part of the UnitedHealthcare family, has pledged its commitment to uplift these communities through substantial investments in organizations addressing the distinct needs of our communities.

Odell plans to build the cellar and a tasting room in a property next to its headquarters at 800 E. Lincoln Ave. this year, and will distribute cans of wines throughout the state. Kayne declined to say how much Odell plans to spend on the project, but described it as a “substantial investment.”

The first public neighborhood meeting required by Fort Collins planners is scheduled for August 14.
