Delaware backs off suit over Illegal Pete’s name

DENVER — Illegal Pete’s, a fast-casual burrito chain with Colorado locations in Boulder, Fort Collins and Denver, has won a legal battle with regulators in Delaware, who sought to block the company’s conversion to a Delaware limited liability company due to concerns about the Illegal Pete’s name.

Delaware officals had deemed the name too offensive, but lawyers with the state’s Division of Corporations recently filed court documents indicated they would back away from that position, according to Associated Press reports published in local media outlets.
