24,000 property owners filed protests
LOVELAND — About 24,000 property owners in Larimer County have filed protests against their assessment increases, which led one deputy assessor to resign due to stress.
The Loveland Reporter-Herald reports Larimer County has the highest number of protest filings in the state this year, which comes after the Fort Collins Board of Realtors and the Loveland/Berthoud Board of Realtors sent a letter to the Assessor’s office earlier this year calling the increases “exorbitant.”
