Coal companies join forces to fight renewables

STEAMBOAT SPRINGS — Peabody Energy and Arch Coal have joined forces in Colorado and Wyoming to make coal more competitive.

The Steamboat Pilot reported that the coal industry is working to combat threats from natural gas and renewable energy sources. Combining assets may help the coal companies work for efficiently.

The collaboration between the two companies involves Twentymile Mile in Routt County near Steamboat, according to the Steamboat Pilot.
