Loveland council approves two incentive packages

LOVELAND — One company will relocate to Loveland, and another will expand if the Loveland City Council gives second-reading approval to two economic-incentive proposals. The council gave unanimous approval on first reading Tuesday night. Mayor Jacki Marsh was absent.

Each company would receive $75,000 in rebates of city permit fees and use taxes, meaning the companies would pay the fees and receive rebates if the projects are completed.

Complete Solutions Robotics LLC plans to build two 20,000-square-foot manufacturing facilities at 7151 Franklin Ave. in the Longview Midway Business Park in north Loveland. The company investment will be about $4 million, according to Mike Olson, president of the company.

Ways to thank a caregiver

If you have a caregiver or know someone who has been serving as a primary caregiver, March 3rd is the day to reach out and show them how much they are valued!

“On behalf of Complete Solution Robotics LLC, I am writing to express our intent to set up an industrial flex facility in the city of Loveland … CSR was established in 2010 and has grown beyond our current building [at 530 W. 66th St.] and we are in the process of building a new site for our production facility as well as to offer bays for other companies to buy/lease,” Olson wrote in his request.

“Our goal is to produce up to 20 robotic systems per year to be sold to the U.S. and other world markets for manufacturing use. The prices of the robotic equipment range from $30,000 to $675,000 each,” he said.

Kelly Jones, city economic-development manager, told the council that the company plans to add 20 jobs over five years.

The company saw 35 percent growth in sales last year and 41 percent in the first quarter of 2019, Olson said.

The other company, Intellivation LLC, would relocate from 1230 Blue Spruce Drive in Fort Collins to 560 W. 66th St., also in the Longview Midway Business Park.

Loveland has already granted a $30,000 incentive and would add $45,000 to that if the council gives final approval. The request for additional assistance comes because of unanticipated construction cost inflation.

Intellivation plans to build an 18,000-square-foot manufacturing facility at a cost of about $3.5 million, the company said in its request.

Intellivation applies thin-film vacuum coatings to substrates such as plastic, metals and glass. Thin, transparent coatings are typically applied to cell phones, laptops and other electronics, as well as anti-reflective coatings to things such as eye glasses.

It sells its work in the United States and Europe.

Mike Simmons, founder and president, said the company plans to relocate 11 employees from Fort Collins and add 18 more.
