Environmental groups plan to sue JBS over wastewater

GREELEY — Two environmental organizations plan to sue Greeley-based JBS USA, accusing the meat-processing giant of exceeding limits on wastewater pollutants.

The Denver Post reports that the Center for Biological Diversity and Food & Water Watch informed the company, state and federal officials of plans for the lawsuit Jan. 31.

JBS operates under a state permit to discharge wastewater from its wastewater-treatment plant into Lone Tree Creek, which empties into the South Platte River, but the environmental groups allege that JBS exceeds limits on pollutants, thereby violating the federal Clean Water Act.

Solar Operations and Maintenance for Commercial Properties

One key qualification to consider when selecting a solar partner to install your system is whether they have an Operations and Maintenance (O&M) or service department. Since solar is a long-term asset with an expected lifecycle of 30 plus years, ongoing O&M should be considered up front. A trusted O&M partner will maximize your system’s energy output and therefor the return on your investment.
