With new partner in place, Re/Max Alliance looks to the future

FORT COLLINS — Over the past year, Dennis Schick has transitioned into a new role as a partner in Re/Max Alliance, a Re/Max realty franchise with two dozen offices across the Front Range.  

The company, as it currently exists, formed in 2005 when Northern Colorado broker-owner Gene Vaughan merged operations with Denver-area broker-owners Chuck and Chad Ochsner.

Re/Max Alliance has Northern Colorado and Boulder Valley operations in Boulder, Loveland, Longmont, Nederland, Broomfield, Louisville, Greeley and Fort Collins.

Vaughan said he first sold a small ownership stake in the company to Schick in early 2018.

Over the past year, Schick has purchased more stock in Re/Max Alliance and now owns about a half of Vaughan’s stake, which amounts to about a quarter of the company. The remaining stock belongs to the Ochsners, Vaughan said.

Schick, who has been with the company for about 15 years,  also recently took a “significant interest” in Re/Max Alliance-affiliated lender Home Mortgage Alliance, Vaughan said. He declined to disclose how much of that company Schick owns.

“When the opportunity (to become a partner) presented itself we were able to make the move and we executed it,” Schick said. “This isn’t an opportunity that comes along very often, so it’s

really exciting.”

Of Schick, Vaughan said, “He has demonstrated that he is more than capable and we are thrilled to death that he’s a partner.”

As partner, Schick said his role is “doing more of the day-to-day operations for all of NoCo.”

In the near-term, Schick said Re/Max Alliance plans to expand its presence in Northern Colorado with the addition of new offices. The company is targeting locations in Berthoud and Timnath for those new operations.

“We’re growing and we’ve have been able to recruit and retain such phenomenal agents,” he said. “We are really trying to make Re/Max Alliance the place to be.”

While Vaughan is transitioning into a more limited role with the company, he is not ready to retire yet.

“I’ll still remain involved for some time and continue to give some leadership,” he said.

Vaughan said there are no immediate plans to transfer additional ownership in Re/Max Alliance to Schick.

“Both he and I are comfortable where we are right now,” he said.
