Bohemian Foundation awards $75K in music grants

FORT COLLINS — The Fort Collins-based Bohemian Foundation has awarded nearly $75,000 to nine organizations working locally to strengthen community through music, according to a foundation news release.

The foundation awards of up to $20,000 to eligible 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations serving Larimer and Weld counties, the release said. Funding requests must align primarily with one of Bohemian Foundation’s Music Programs goals: to provide youth with encouragement and opportunities to express themselves through music; to help musicians and music-related businesses grow and develop; and to increase performances of live music.
The most recent recipients of grant funding are:

  • Create Places, $10,000 for 53:14 Music Video Experiment
  • Fort Collins Musicians Association, $15,000 for FoCoMX 2019
  • Foundation Music School, $6,000 for general support
  • Friends of Levitt Pavilion, $3,500 for Northern Colorado to Denver: Levitt Bridge Program
  • Public Radio for the Front Range, $10,000 KRFC 88.9 FM Around Town
  • Lineage Music Lab, $10,000 for Professional Performance and Sound Technician Youth Mentorship Program
  • Pathways Hospice, $5,000 for Pathways Music Therapy
  • Sustain Music and Nature, $5,000 for Band Escapes
  • University of Colorado, Denver, $10,000 for LYNX National Arts and Media Camp
