Boulder, Broomfield business leaders hold affordable housing forum

BOULDER — Nearly 70 business leaders from Boulder and Broomfield counties gathered in Boulder Tuesday for a housing affordability forum.

The Business Affordable Workforce Housing Summit, held at Zayo’s Boulder offices, was hosted by the Northwest Chamber Alliance and sponsored by the Longmont Association of Realtors, according to a news release.

The alliance — comprised of the Boulder, Broomfield, Latino, Longmont and Superior Chambers of Commerce — hosted the event to spur conversation about workforce housing issues’ impacts on employees.

“Workforce housing is a quality of life issue,” Michael Gradoz, assistant superintendent for human resources for the Boulder Valley School District, said in a prepared statement. “It is about the character of our communities.”

Information from the summit will be developed into a report and roadmap for moving forward, according to the Northwest Chamber Alliance news release.
