BCH offers new midwife service

BOULDER — Boulder Community Health officially launched Foothills Community Midwives, a new clinic that guarantees patients a midwife-attended birth in a hospital setting.

The four certified nurse midwives are offering comprehensive women’s health services and pregnancy care at offices in Boulder and Broomfield. All babies are delivered at Foothill Hospital’s Family Birth Center in Boulder.

Certified nurse midwives are registered nurses with graduate education in midwifery. Midwives offer personalized care to women of all ages, including pregnancy, birth and postpartum care but also general health check-ups, testing, gynecologic care, family planning and other services.

Exploring & expressing grief

Support groups and events, as well as creative therapies and professional counseling, are all ways in which Pathways supports individuals dealing with grief and loss.

Foothills Community Midwives will also consult with board-certified obstetricians whenever needed, through a partnership with BCH’s OB/GYN clinic, Boulder Women’s Care.
