Former CU president Buechner dies
BOULDER — Former University of Colorado president John Buechner has died at 82.
Buechner, who also is a former Boulder mayor and state representative during the 1970s, was CU president from 1995-2000.
The Boulder Camera quoted his family as saying, “John had a great affinity for the University of Colorado. He spent over 50 years being associated with CU in a variety of roles … (and) he took great pride in being associated with CU and worked untiringly in hopes of having a positive impact with students, staff, faculty and friends of the university.”
