Avery scales back employees with spring layoffs

BOULDER — Avery Brewing Co. scaled back its team with a round of quiet layoffs earlier this year.

The Gunbarrel brewery laid off six employees two months ago, spokeswoman Vanessa Cory confirmed to BizWest in an email.

Following increased sales in 2017, Cory said the company was staffed for more anticipated growth than it achieved.

She added that the laid off employees were given a severance package and would be eligible for future opportunities at Avery.
