German company HelloFresh acquires Boulder-based Green Chef

BOULDER — German meal-kit provider HelloFresh SE has acquired Green Chef, a Boulder-based company that makes certified-organic meal kits. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

HelloFresh, with U.S. operations based in New York, will now offer the largest selection of meal plans for consumers, the company said, adding Green Chef’s organic vegan and gluten-free menus. The combination positions the company to leverage HelloFresh’s scale and resources to drive further growth.

Green Chef has a groundbreaking approach to its organic menus and will be the perfect addition to HelloFresh’s meal plans,” Tobias Hartmann, president for North America at HelloFresh, said in a prepared statement. “HelloFresh will now offer the most customized meal choices to customers and we are excited to welcome Green Chef’s talented team and production resources to HelloFresh.”
