Pinnacle Agriculture hires Marchbank to replace Cordell as CEO

LOVELAND — Pinnacle Agriculture Holdings LLC has hired Robert Marchbank as president and chief executive to lead the Loveland-based company’s agriculture retail and wholesale distribution businesses across 27 states.

Marchbank replaces longtime company leader L. Kenneth Cordell Jr., who in June announced that he would be stepping down from that job but would remain a member of the company’s board of directors.

Pinnacle operates through its Sanders, AgVenture Pinnacle, OptiGro, Innvictis Crop Care LLC, Meridian Agriculture Distribution, Mission Seed Solution LLC and Altitude Crop Innovations LLC brands, serving growers across 27 states. Pinnacle’s operations include seed production and sales, agricultural-chemical distribution, bulk handling of fertilizer, precision agriculture services and general merchandise for the farming, livestock and wildlife industries.

Prior to joining Pinnacle, Marchbank was the CEO of ProBuild Holdings Inc., which, prior to its acquisition by Builders FirstSource Inc., was one of the nation’s largest professional building materials suppliers. At the time of its acquisition, ProBuild had revenue of approximately $4.5 billion, more than 400 locations, and more than 10,000 associates in 40 states. Prior to ProBuild, Marchbank served as the CEO of Wolseley plc’s operations in Europe,, where he ran multiple business operations across 19 countries.
