BOULDER — 10-4 Systems, a privately-held company that uses technology to help businesses have a more efficient supply chain, was acquired by Trimble (Nasdaq: TRMB).

Trimble is a technology and data analytics company based in Sunnyvale, Calif. The acquisition expands Trimble’s Transportation Management Systems portfolio. Financial terms were not disclosed, according to a news release.

Boulder-based 10-4 Systems offers a comprehensive platform to provide visibility to shippers where their cargo is at any given time, improving communication and collaboration between shippers and carriers.

“We are excited to bring the benefits of our advanced enterprise visibility platform to the thousands of supply chain partners that rely on Trimble’s Transportation Enterprise solutions,” said Travis Rhyan, president and CEO of 10-4 Systems, in a prepared statement. “Trimble has a clear commitment to offering leading-edge technologies and collaborative solutions that enable customers to increase efficiency, profitability and long-term competitiveness.”

Rhyan will stay on with 10-4 Systems as executive vice president and general manager, and the business will be reported as part of Trimble’s Transportation Segment.
