Colorado professors publish book on bringing organizations and community together

BELLVUE — Two Colorado professors have written the book on organizations contributing to the betterment of a community.

David Thomas, adjunct professor at Regis University and president of Stone Prairie Group, and James Banning, professor emeritus at Colorado State University, wrote “Organizations at the Intersection of Place.” The book is about how organizations value the places they reside and connect to their location and community, called place building.

The book proves a practical framework about how organizations locate themselves in the place building spectrum and adopt place building strategies to help communities identify and recruit organizations that are a best fit for them. It has applications for businesses that want to contribute to their communities.
