Davies, whose first day will be Aug. 1, was selected after a six-month national search that considered more than 140 applicants.

Paul Mueller, chairman of the nonprofit’s board of directors, said in a prepared statement that Davies has “a top-notch business approach and an extensive nonprofit background. This mix of cross-sector experience, combined with her deep passion for strengthening communities makes her uniquely qualified to step in and build on Thibedeau’s legacy from the past two decades.”

Davies has more than 15 years of experience in the nonprofit and public sectors. Davies began her nonprofit career in Seattle at the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.

She worked in higher education at Grand Valley State University and the University of Colorado in Denver.

While at Grand Valley State, she implemented the national Nonprofit Leadership Alliance program and grew the program to the third-largest in the country in less than two years.

At CU Denver, Davies oversaw national recruitment, marketing and alumni for the School of Public Affairs.

Davies also served as director of communication and development at Rocky Mountain Human Services, a $40 million community-centered board serving individuals with disabilities and veterans with traumatic brain injury. She rebranded the organization, developed a fundraising program and led efforts to increase transparency and stakeholder communication.

“Annie is a remarkable leader who will bring a fresh perspective, along with decades of unparalleled knowledge and expertise,” Thibedeau said in the prepared statement. “I am thrilled with the board’s decision and am confident that Annie is the right person to lead the way in our forward-thinking approach to reducing poverty in our community.”

The search was headed by Kevin Cory, chairman of the nonprofit’s human resources committee. The search committee was made up of community members, donors, staff and board members.
