Anadarko to disconnect supply lines implicated in Firestone explosion

FIRESTONE – Anadarko Petroleum Corp. (NYSE: APC) announced Tuesday that it will permanently disconnect all underground 1-inch low-pressure supply or “return” lines from its vertical wells.

The action was reported on a webpage highlighting ongoing steps taken by the company in the wake of an explosion in Firestone that claimed two lives, April 17.

Anadarko also announced that it was working with the Oak Meadows Home Owners Association to provide funding for methane-detection equipment for individual homeowners and to fund cleanup and upgrade of a community park.
