Loveland-based Colorado Camper Van quadruples space

LOVELAND — Colorado Camper Van LLC, a family-owned business that specializes in equipping vans with camper features, is moving to a larger location within Loveland to accommodate growth.

The company has leased 13,096 square feet of a 21,000-square-foot building at 1531 E. 11th St. in the Ward Industrial Park. The company previously occupied 3,000 square feet at 1107. 14th St. S.E.

Derek Weber and his wife, Elizabeth, formed the company in 2010 in Drake and moved operations to Loveland in 2013. The company has grown from four to 12 employees in the past year.

The company specializes in campervan conversions for Sprinter, Ford Transit and Promaster, as well as Ford, Chevy and GMC vans.

The company offers a line of pop tops, engineered by Derek Weber. They include as standard — automatic remote functionality, six windows for light and ventilation, and a bed, he said.

The company also designs, builds and installs seating, beds or kitchenettes in the van’s cargo area and can install suspension kits to allow vans to cover rough terrain. It also can convert the cargo area into a mobile office.

“We have an oil company that has ordered several mobile-office conversions,” Derek Weber said.

The custom conversions range in price from $15,000 to $80,000, with an average price of $25,000, he said.

“With this new location, we have expanded our custom cabinet shop and can build beds, kitchenettes and cabinets for your exact needs,” Weber said. “You dream it, and we can do it.”

The company has sales offices in Colorado, Utah and California, and relies primarily on word-of-mouth to find customers.

“We are booked through June,” Weber said.

Ron Kuehl with Realtec of Loveland represented the landlord, Frontier Group LLC based in Lamar, on leasing the building.
