“Supporting the many remarkable causes in our community is what we enjoy most,” said Frank Sherman, owner of The Human Bean. “Music is such a fundamental aspect of education, and we’re thrilled to support The Kayla Foundation’s efforts to provide that.”

The Kayla Foundation is a fund of The Community Foundation of Northern Colorado and was founded in April 2009, two years after Kayla Marie Adsit was killed in a car accident at the age of 17. Her parents wished to continue her love of community and music, which initiated the idea of The Kayla Foundation. Since its creation, the organization has given $70,000 in grants to 32 different local schools, two districtwide choirs and seven other nonprofits in the area. More than 22,000 children have benefitted from these grants.
