Sports Authority to begin store-closing sales Thursday

Going-out-of-business sales will begin at all Sports Authority stores — including three in northern Colorado and two in Boulder County — on Thursday.

The Denver Post reports that a federal bankruptcy judge signed off on Tuesday on the sporting goods retail chain’s and liquidators’ plans for shutting down some 460 stores. The sales are slated to end by Aug. 31.

Sports Authority, which closed an SA Elite store in Boulder in February, still has stores in Boulder, Longmont and Greeley, as well as two in Fort Collins.
