Construction-defects negotiations die in Colorado Legislature

Proponents of reforming Colorado’s construction defects laws will have to wait at least another year if they’re to find a solution at the state legislature.

The Denver Business Journal reports that negotiations on a potential bill that would have made it harder for homeowners to sue builders fell apart on Thursday. Proponents of reform have argued that builders are scared to build condominiums due to the risk of being sued, causing a gap in efforts to provide new affordable housing product for Colorado’s growing population.
