County could require Niwot building owners to install EV charger

Boulder County commissioners next week will consider an application to convert the ground floor of a two-story building in Niwot into a restaurant — but there’s a catch.

The Times-Call reports that the building’s owners, Anne and James Postle, are objecting to a county staff report’s recommendation that they be required to install a public electric-vehicle charging station as a condition of approval. A slow-charging station could cost at least $9,300, and a fast-charging station could cost as much as $50,000 to $100,000, according to Anne Postle.
