Fort Collins closing Old Town parking lot as hotel construction nears
As groundbreaking on a new upscale hotel in Old Town Fort Collins nears, the city next week will close a parking lot on the site so developers can get it ready for work to begin.
The Coloradoan reports that the lot next to the former Armadillo restaurant will close Feb. 10. A development team that includes Bohemian Cos., Sage Hospitality and McWhinney is planning to tear down the restaurant and a former church to build a 162-room hotel and conference center, along with a 323-space parking garage that will be paid for in part by city funds.
Demolition of the current buildings could begin this month.
