Loveland lodgers record best occupancy rate in Northern Colorado during December

Lodgers in Loveland recorded a 54.3 percent occupancy rate during December, producing the best performance among cities and areas in Northern Colorado and the Boulder Valley tracked by the Colorado Hotel and Lodging Association.

December is traditionally the slowest month of the year for lodgers, with July being the busiest.

The association’s Rocky Mountain Lodging Report released earlier this week revealed the occupancy rate in Boulder for December was 49.3 percent, followed by Fort Collins, 49 percent; Highway 36 Corridor from Interstate 25 to Boulder, 48.1 percent; Greeley, 43.1 percent and Estes Park, 29.5 percent.

The occupancy rate statewide in December was 55.7 percent.

For 2015, the occupancy rate in Colorado was 68.8 percent with an average room rate of $145.30 per night.

Average daily rates during December for the following cities in Northern Colorado and the Boulder Valley tracked by the report were:

Estes Park: $146.73;

Boulder: $133.01;

Loveland: $111.98;

Greeley: $99.16;

Fort Collins: $94.19.

The highest average room rate for December statewide was Aspen at $660.13.
