Weld mulls law limiting solar’s access to farmland
If a proposed ordinance goes through in Weld County, solar farms won’t enjoy the same access to farm and ranch land that oil and gas drilling and coal mining do.
According to the Greeley Tribune, county commissioners didn’t appear to be totally sold on the proposal, which woupresented to the public for the first time on Monday. The law, if enacted, would require all solar facilities to sit on land zoned industrial, which is more expensive to lease.
