McWhinney proposes grocery store for Fort Collins Sports Authority site
A grocery store could be returning to the Sports Authority site at 425 S. College Ave. some 26 years after Safeway left the spot behind.
The Coloradoan reports that Loveland-based developer McWhinney Inc. met with city officials this week to discuss preliminary plans for a grocery store, though company officials told the paper that McWhinney is still trying to secure a tenant.
Sports Authority is vacating the 26,000-square-foot building next year when it moves into a new store at the Foothills mall.
