Associates in Family Medicine using MyChoiceMD pricing app

FORT COLLINS —Associates in Family Medicine has partnered with MyChoiceMD to debut the Fort Collins-based company’s health-care app in Colorado.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The application allows patients to determine in advance what it will cost to go to the doctor, compare those costs with other providers, and schedule appointments without involving insurance companies in the process.

Patients also may post reviews of physicians and the care provided to them, providing a report card on the doctor/patient experience.

Founded in 1962, Associates in Family Medicine is the largest independently owned medical practice in Northern Colorado. It has nine locations in Fort Collins, Loveland and Windsor.

“We are thrilled to work with a tech-savvy, progressive company like Associates in Family Medicine to introduce the MyChoiceMD app to Colorado,” said Gustav Hoyer, chief executive and co-founder of MyChoiceMD. “Our goal is to help put health care squarely back in the hands of physicians and patients, restoring the direct one-to-one relationship that used to be the hallmark of seeing your family doctor.”

Gavin Kaszynski, director of finance for Associates in Family Medicine, said the partnership aligns well with the practice in terms of continually looking for innovations that enhance patient care.

“We think it (MyChoiceMD app) has the potential to revolutionize what it means to go to the doctor in terms of straightforward processes and cost-savings to our patients,” he said.

The app is available at AFM’s office on South Lemay Avenue and soon will be available at the Harmony office in Fort Collins and the Foxtrail office at Centerra in Loveland. The remaining locations will be phased in over the next several months.
