Estes Park seeks input on workforce housing

ESTES PARK — Businesses and their employees in the Estes Valley are being surveyed this month to help the town address the need for workforce housing.

The town’s administration, its housing authority, local businesses and other agencies are sponsoring the study to help decision-makers understand how the availability of workforce housing may be affecting employers in the area and how they can best address housing needs.

As part of the study, two surveys have been developed — one for employers to fill out and another for them to send to their employees. The Housing Authority set no deadline for completing the surveys, but asked that they be returned as soon as possible.

Empowering communities

Rocky Mountain Health Plans (RMHP), part of the UnitedHealthcare family, has pledged its commitment to uplift these communities through substantial investments in organizations addressing the distinct needs of our communities.

The confidential questionnaire for employers is designed to be filled out by people who are familiar with their businesses’ year-round and seasonal employment needs, where their employees live and their experience hiring and retaining workers. That survey is online here.

The Housing Authority hopes every employee in the Estes Valley fills out the other confidential survey, whether they live locally or commute in from other areas, and whether they are satisfied with their housing situation. Employees who participate also may choose to be entered in a drawing for one of five $100 grocery certificates. That survey is online here.

Anyone with questions or concerns about the study can contact Wendy Sullivan of Anselmo, Calif.-based WSW Consulting, which is helping facilitate the study, at 303-579-6702 or wendy@wswconsult.com.
