BROOMFIELD — Tickets are on sale for the 11th annual Denver International Wine Festival, to be co-sponsored by BizWest Media LLC and slated for Oct. 28-30 at the Omni Interlocken Resort in Broomfield.

The wine and food festival will showcase the largest selection of international and domestic wines of any “grand tasting” in the Rocky Mountain region, and recently was named one of the “Top 10 Can’t Miss Fall Wine Festivals” in the United States by Fodor’s.

Honorary host will be Karen MacNeil, author of “The Wine Bible.”

Empowering communities

Rocky Mountain Health Plans (RMHP), part of the UnitedHealthcare family, has pledged its commitment to uplift these communities through substantial investments in organizations addressing the distinct needs of our communities.

The festival will kick off with the Grand Vintner’s Dinner, a multi-course winemaker’s dinner, and continue the next day with the Pairsine Chefs Fine Food and Wine Pairing Competition, in which 10 celebrated chefs have each been assigned two of the gold-medal-winning wines from the 2015 Denver International Wine Competition and must create a gourmet food pairing for each wine.

The Grand Tasting of International Wines and Food on Oct. 30 is the region’s largest wine-tasting event for consumers, media and trade, with more than 60 wineries, breweries and distilleries pouring, including premium spirits, sake, and craft beer. Food and wine tastings, food products, wine accessories, an auction and fine art are included.

All auction proceeds will benefit There With Care, which provides a range of services to children and families during the critical phase of a medical crisis.

Festival tickets range in price from $75 to $175 per person, depending on the event. New this year, the festival also will offer a Connoisseur 2-Day VIP Pass for $340, which will be valid for the Pairsine VIP Experience on Oct. 29 and Grand Tasting VIP ticket on Oct. 30.
