McWhinney expands apartment plans at Foothills Mall

Loveland-based development firm McWhinney has filed plans with the city of Fort Collins to build 400 apartments as part of the redevelopment of the Foothills Mall site being led by Alberta Development Partners.

That’s up from the 256 apartments McWhinney said earlier this year that it would build. The Coloradoan reports that while the original 256 apartments would have sat on 9 acres, the new plan is to use all 12 acres devoted to residential development at the Foothills site.

Alberta had originally gained approval for as many as 800 apartment units at the site.
