Construction begins on 67,000-square-foot AltaVita Assisted Living facility in Longmont

LONGMONT — A new 66,939-square-foot assisted-living facility in Longmont is slated for completion in June 2016 after breaking ground earlier this month.

Macy Development Co. began construction July 14 on AltaVita Assisted Living, a 67-room facility that will sit next to Macy’s existing AltaVitaMemory Care Centre at 800 S. Fordham St.

The assisted-living center will be a two-story building with four residential wings. It will include 34 studios, 29 one-bedroom units and four companion suites.

In addition to the residential units, the facility will include two guest suites, a bistro and ice cream parlor, fitness center, spas, a salon, and outdoor recreation features.

Shaw Construction of Denver is the general contractor and First Bank of Longmont the lender. Kephart Architects of Denver and Emiko Design of Parker provided architectural services.
