Savory Cuisines buys building, expands kitchen, menu

BOULDER — Savory Cuisines, a catering company in Boulder, announced Friday it has launched Savory Burgers & Pies, a New York-style pizza, sandwich and burger take-out and delivery service.

Owner Bob Sargent recently purchased two suites at 5741 Arapahoe Road totaling 7,390 square feet, which it had been leasing for the past 12 years, from Burr Co. based in Denver. The purchase price was $750,000.

“We’re now focusing on our own take-out menu, expanding our kitchen, making cosmetic improvements to the building and increasing our catering capabilities,” Sargent said. The upgraded kitchen will have two triple-stack pizza ovens.

“Everyone has always raved about our handcrafted pizza,” Sargent said. “It seemed like the perfect next step, and the chance to extend our catering take-out menus with pizza, burgers and additional international gourmet items such as Thai Basil and Mango Serrano Chicken Wings,” he said.

Savory Cuisines will host an open house from 5 to 9 p.m., Thursday, April 30, at its upgraded facility. The evening will include Savory’s culinary fare, wine from B-Town, beer from Avery Brewing, spirits from J&L Distillery and music from Boulder’s Sunshine Star Route.
