Larimer, Boulder counties rank 6th, 7th in inheritance payouts

Larimer County ranks sixth in the state and Boulder County seventh when it comes to the largest annual inheritance payments, according to a new report.

The data comes from New York-based SmartAsset, a data-crunching firm that provides tools and reports to help people make financial decisions.

For the inheritance report,  SmartAsset gleaned data from the U.S. Census Bureau’s 2012 American Community Survey, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Internal Revenue Service, and the American Council of Life Insurers.
