WhiteWave Foods leases industrial space in Louisville

LOUISVILLE — Broomfield-based WhiteWave Foods Co. has leased space at the Colorado Technology Center in Louisville that it will use for food preparation, research and testing beginning March 1, according to information provided by the landlord, Etkin Johnson Real Estate Partners of Denver.

WhiteWave leased 50,324 square feet of a new 66,350-square-foot building at 1900 Cherry St. Terms of the lease were not disclosed.

WhiteWave officials have not yet responded to a request about how taking the new space will affect its operations, other company locations or employee count.

WhiteWave Foods (Nasdaq: WWVA) makes and sells plant-based foods and beverages, coffee creamers, dairy products and organic produce.

It leases space for its North American headquarters and its consumer affairs department in a building owned and managed by Westfield Development at 12002 Airport Way in Broomfield. An office in Denver serves as the headquarters for WhiteWave’s holding company.

The new industrial/flex building at the southwest corner of CTC Boulevard and Cherry Street was constructed by Etkin Johnson on speculation and completed in September. The building features 24‐foot high ceilings, 11 truck docks, two drive‐in doors and sustainable design elements to minimize environmental impact.

Green building features include low‐E glass, a GenFlex cool roof system, an energy‐efficient HVAC system, strategically placed skylights, LED site lighting and electronic‐vehicle charging stations for use by occupants and visitors.

Ryan Good, Etkin Johnson’s vice president of leasing/sales, said growth in the Northwest corridor continues. “This lease is indicative of the demand we’ve seen for Class A industrial/flex space in the market.”

Etkin Johnson owns and manages nine high-end industrial/flex properties totaling approximately 730,000 square feet, along with 30 acres of land for build‐out in the Colorado Technology Center.
