Boulder council to consider new funding request for utility effort
BOULDER – The Boulder City Council at its Tuesday meeting will hold a public hearing on the proposed 2015 budget, including a request from staff for a $4.6 million increase in funding for the city’s efforts to create a municipal electric utility.
Staff is asking for $6.9 million in all to fund municipalization efforts in 2015. The bulk of the extra money requested – a little more than $4 million – would be an advance from the general fund on 2016 and 2017 utility occupation tax revenue.
