IBMC expanding its campus in Longmont

LONGMONT – Construction is underway on a 3,500-square-foot addition to IBMC College’s campus at 2315 North Main St. in Longmont that will house a Student Beauty Services Clinic, part of its School of Cosmetology.

The clinic will consist of two beauty career training classrooms, 20 hairstyling stations, three pedicure stations, three nail-technician stations, two esthetician rooms and a skin-care training classroom.

Students will perform hairstyling, coloring, cutting and other services.  Esthetic procedures include facials, waxing and makeup applications, while nail services encompass manicures, artificial nail applications and pedicures. These services will be available to the general public at a discounted rate.

Support groups and events, as well as creative therapies and professional counseling, are all ways in which Pathways supports individuals dealing with grief and loss.

Fort Collins-based Thunderpup Construction Inc. is the general contractor. The addition is expected to be completed in mid-November. Cost of the project was not disclosed.

The Institute of Business & Medical Careers is based in Fort Collins and has campuses in Fort Collins, Greeley, Longmont and Cheyenne, Wyo.

The cosmetology program takes 14 months to complete. The college also will offer a 12-month Hairstyling Certificate program, six-month Esthetician Certificate program and six-month Nail Technician Certificate program in Longmont beginning spring 2015,
