MAX underpass project to close Monroe Drive

FORT COLLINS – Excavation of an underpass that will link the MAX Bus Rapid Transit project and the Foothills mall will close West Monroe Drive at College Avenue intersection beginning next week.

The underpass will lead from the Foothills mall under College Avenue to the Mason Corridor. Its construction was part of the $53 million public financing agreement between the city of Fort Collins and mall developers Alberta Development Partners.

Before the underpass can be constructed, a ditch, the Larimer County Canal No. 2, must be relocated. Work on the project began in January and relocation work is scheduled to complete in April.
