Amundson joins BizWest as VP of operations

Amundson will divide his time between BizWest Media’s offices in Boulder and Fort Collins.
Amundson served as managing editor of the Loveland Reporter-Herald from 1987 to 1998, when he was named assistant to the publisher at Longmont-based Lehman Communications Corp. He was named general manager of the Longmont Times-Call in 2006. In 2007, he became editor and general manager of the Loveland Reporter-Herald, a position he retained until May 2011, shortly after Lehman Communications was purchased by Prairie Mountain Publishing Co.

He spent the past two years overseeing publishing operations for Ballantine Communications Corp., the Durango-based operator of newspapers, telephone directories and digital services in southwest Colorado and New Mexico. Amundson and his wife, JoEllen, also own a Curves health and fitness facility in Loveland.

BizWest Media recently announced that it would consolidate the longstanding Boulder County Business Report, founded in 1982, and the Northern Colorado Business Report, founded in 1995. The new publication, BizWest, will maintain offices in Boulder and Fort Collins. The combined publication will have initial circulation of 9,000.
“Ken will be a great asset as we combine our two Colorado-based publications,´ said Jeff Nuttall, co-manager of BizWest Media. “He has experience and connections both in Boulder County and Northern Colorado. We look forward to putting his skills to good use.”
BizWest Media also publishes the Cheyenne-based Wyoming Business Report.
