Economist Magazine honors Envirofit

Four Fort Collins developers have been given the Energy and Environment Innovator award by The Economist magazine based in London for the creation of Envirofit International, a high performing clean energy cookstove that combats air pollution.

Founders Tim Bauer, Nathan Lorenz, Bryan Willson and Paul Hudnut began developing and designing Envirofit in 2003 at Colorado State University in the Engines and Energy Conversion Lab. From there, it grew to a small pilot project in India with one stove and eventually became internationally recognized. Over 700,000 cookstoves have been sold in Africa, Asia and Latin America.
