All four Northern Colorado hospitals are now connected to the health information exchange, a secure network designed to improve communication between doctors and others caring for a patient.

The exchange is operated by the Colorado Regional Health Information Organization.

Banner Health-owned hospitals McKee Medical Center in Loveland and North Colorado Medical Center in Greeley, as well as University of Colorado Health hospitals Poudre Valley Health in Fort Collins and Medical Center of the Rockies are now part of the network.

The health information exchange gives physicians and other providers access to health information about their patients including discharge notifications, test results and imaging reports.

Connecting to the health information exchange promises to allow providers to provide better quality care with fewer complications and greater communication between providers and others.

The Colorado Regional Health Information Organization is the state-designated entity for health information exchange and collaborates with health care stakeholders in many capacities.
