Business leaders convene on future

Much progress has been made in the Colorado economy over the past decades, but business, government and nonprofits must come together to address some serious issues that remain.

That was my takeaway from the inaugural Business Impact Roundtable, presented June 14 at Level 3 Communications Inc.’s campus in Broomfield. The gathering, presented by the Boulder Chamber and Impact on Education, was designed to determine what it would take to secure business support for additional investment in public education.

Christopher Wood is editor and publisher of BizWest, a regional business journal covering Boulder, Broomfield, Larimer and Weld counties. Wood co-founded the Northern Colorado Business Report in 1995 and served as publisher of the Boulder County Business Report until the two publications were merged to form BizWest in 2014. From 1990 to 1995, Wood served as reporter and managing editor of the Denver Business Journal. He is a Marine Corps veteran and a graduate of the University of Colorado Boulder.
