Quid Novi kicks off 2011 festival with Aug. 18 preview

FORT COLLINS – An evening of music, food and innovation will provide a
preview of the second annual Quid Novi Festival on Thursday, Aug. 18.

The Quid Novi Jams will feature international violinist Karen Bentley
Pollick and local blues band Davey & the Blu Dog, as well as food,
wine, beer and inventor power demos, exhibits and previews of the full
Quid Novi festival set for Oct. 22 in Fort Collins.

The preview will take place at Sunrise Ranch, 100 Sunrise Ranch Road in
Loveland, from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Cost to attend is $25 and tickets are
available online at www.sunriseranch.org/arts.

The Quid Novi Festival itself will take place at the Midtown Arts Center, 3750 S. Mason St., Fort Collins.

In addition to the inventors’ showcase and an inspirational lineup of
speakers including Northern Colorado’s own Debra Benton and Brian
Schwartz, the festival is sponsoring three creative contests, each with a
$1,000 top prize.

Deadline to enter the writing contest, the book design contest or the
innovation contest is Aug. 22; each entry must be accompanied by a $25
fee, $15 for second and subsequent entries. Winners will be announced at
the festival on Oct.22.
