Larimer County accepting comments on redistricting

FORT COLLINS – The Board of Larimer County Commissioners is seeking public comment concerning the proposed new boundaries for the three Larimer County Commissioner Districts.

Districts are redrawn after every census to balance representation in each district according to changes in population. The biggest changes to the district boundaries are that the Larimer County portion of Windsor moves into District 3 and LaPorte and the surrounding area moves into District 1. Bellvue will remain in District 2.

A map of the proposed districts is available at http://larimer.org/bcc_boundaries.jpg.

Solar Operations and Maintenance for Commercial Properties

One key qualification to consider when selecting a solar partner to install your system is whether they have an Operations and Maintenance (O&M) or service department. Since solar is a long-term asset with an expected lifecycle of 30 plus years, ongoing O&M should be considered up front. A trusted O&M partner will maximize your system’s energy output and therefor the return on your investment.

Commissioner Lew Gaiter currently represents District 1; Steve Johnson, District 2, and Tom Donnelly, District 3. All county residents vote on county commissioners at large, and one commissioner must live in each of the three districts.

The board will accept comments on the redistricting until July 29. They can be emailed to bocc@larimer.org or mailed to P.O. Box 1190, Fort Collins, CO, 80522.

Final adoption of the redistricting map will occur in a public meeting in the first week of August.
