Level 3, Comcast continue to wage fee fight
BROOMFIELD —The very public PR battle between Level 3 Communications Inc. and Comcast Corp. continued into its second week after both sides issued dueling statements on their websites and in the press.
Level 3 (Nasdaq: LVLT), a Broomfield-based telecommunications company, and Comcast (Nasdaq: CMCSA and CMCSK), a cable and Internet service provider, have been engaged in a war of words since Nov. 29, when Level 3 accused Comcast of “putting up a toll booth at the borders of its broadband Internet access network” by demanding Level 3 pay fees to provide online content such as streaming movies to Comcast customers.
