Foundation picks fire relief grantees

BOULDER – The Community Foundation Serving Boulder County will grant more than $737,000 to individuals, families, community organizations and fire departments directly affected by September’s Fourmile Canyon Fire.

The foundation’s all-volunteer advisory committee finalized recommendations for who should receive money from the Boulder Mountain Fire Relief Fund. Individuals and families such as residents, property owners and renters will receive more than $444,000, community organizations will be granted $17,000 and fire departments will receive $275,848.

Two hundred applications asking for a total of $3,651,421 were submitted and reviewed by the nine-member committee in a process that took three weeks and nearly 400 hours…
