Foreclosure sales drop sharply

DENVER-The number of foreclosures completed in Boulder and Broomfield counties dropped dramatically in October as lenders stopped selling properties to make sure they were in accordance with the law, a report released Monday by the Colorado Division of Housing said.

According to the report, 36 foreclosed homes in Boulder County and six foreclosed homes in Broomfield County were sold at auction in October, a month-to-month decrease of 44 percent and 67 percent, respectively.

Analysts with the division attributed the drop to the slowdown in foreclosure processing put in place when lenders started reviewing filings in response to the so-called “robo-signing” controversy, in…
