Lennon and Chapman
John Lennon’s killer will remain in New York’s Attica prison for awhile longer, and I’m glad.
On Sept. 7 the prison’s parole board again turned down Mark David Chapman’s request to go free.
Now, I’m normally pretty much a “live-and-let-live” kind of guy, but I’m making an exception in the case of Chapman, who’s serving 20-years-to-life.
Chapman’s the demented neer-do-well who took it upon himself to hunt down and murder one of music’s geniuses and the leader of the best rock-and-roll band of all time, The Beatles.
The date was December 8, 1980, and for my generation it was almost a Pearl Harbor kind…
