NoCo unemployment dropped in April
DENVER – Unemployment in Northern Colorado dropped in April from the previous month, as Greeley’s rate dropped from 9.9 percent in March to 9 percent in April and Fort Collins-Loveland dropped from 7.1 percent to 6.4 percent.
Greeley’s unemployment rate for April 2009 was 8.8 percent, while the rate for Fort Collins-Loveland one year ago was 6.8 percent.
For the state, unemployment inched up from 7.9 percent in March to 8 percent in April, according to figures released Friday by the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment. In April 2009 the state’s unemployment rate was 8.1 percent.
