Entrepreneurs honored with Bravo! Awards

LOVELAND – Six individuals and a trio of chambers of commerce were honored by the Northern Colorado Business Report May 5 for their entrepreneurial contributions to the region’s business community. The Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to Don Churchwell, now “retired” from Home State Bank, for his long dedication to economic development and job creation in Northern Colorado.

The 12th annual Bravo! Entrepreneur Awards celebration at the Embassy Suites Loveland drew about 200 business leaders in support of the winners in four geographic categories:

Exploring & expressing grief

Support groups and events, as well as creative therapies and professional counseling, are all ways in which Pathways supports individuals dealing with grief and loss.

  • Fort Collins – Curt Richardson, founder and CEO of OtterBox
  • Loveland – Aubrey Poore, founder and chief scientist of Numerica Corp.
  • Greeley – Ted Warner, founder and CEO of Connecting Point
  • Outlying Communities – William Rankin, CEO of UQM Technologies Inc.

Guy Babbitt, co-founder and president of Czero Inc. in Fort Collins, was named Emerging Entrepreneur, and the Regional Spirit Award was shared by the chambers of commerce of Fort Collins, Greeley and Loveland, for their continuing efforts to bring their memberships together to work on behalf of the entire Northern Colorado business community.

Awards were presented by Troy McWhinney of McWhinney and Jeff Wald of Kennedy and Coe, the sponsors of the 2010 Bravo! awards. Jeff Nuttall, publisher of NCBR, emceed the evening.
